Grand historic buildings remaining from the colonial era in the Central district (many are unfortunately not open to the public) include Government House, Central Government Offices, Former Central Police Station Compound, The Helena May Building, St. Joseph's Church, St. John's Cathedral, Legislative Council Chambers and the Former French Mission Building.
