Fully energized now, hit the pavement and look for Possession Street (between Queen's Road West and Hollywood Road), the approximate location where the British first camped when Plenipotentiary Charles Elliot claimed Hong Kong for the British Empire back in 1841. The island's continuous building and development on reclaimed land over the years unfortunately means one can no longer glance straight down at the busy waterfront from here and imagine the British ships pushing strategically into the harbor in the nineteenth century.
