Just up the hill is the Bailey House (1833), a preserved missionary home that is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Look for a renowned collection of early Hawaiian objects, Reverend Bailey's charming landscape paintings of Maui, plus an original Duke Kahanamoku surfboard on display. Drive down Iao Valley Road now to enter the scenic rain forest of spectacular Iao Valley State Park.  Maui's true nature peeks at you from every curve in the road, and you're amazed to find that the peaceful valley is located only minutes away from "civilization".
