It was because of the Molokai Hoe Canoe Race that we found ourselves bouncing down a dirt road from Maunaloa toward Hale o Lono Harbor one early October morning. With over 1,000 paddlers from around the world competing in the 41-mile race, the energy, colors and pageantry at the event were absolutely amazing. |

Look for Joseph "Nappy" Napoleon, the over 60 legend from Anuenue Canoe Club who has finished the event for over 50+ years in a row now. His love and dedication to the sport is inspiring to say the least. |
